location as it was close to the dive sites of damaniyat islands
well the service could have been better bit laid back has great potential
Beach although it was noisy in the evening due a lot of cars and scooters running there some motorcyclists doing one wheeling
Room was clean and tidy with a nice garden view but overrated at 100 rials /night
Much open space, good for young and old, good facilities
No sign to Al Sawadi at the main road coming from Muscat. Used an hour to find the place.
It was not crowded (may be bad for the business, but definitely good for the guests!) It has good privacy Food was generally good
Poor infrastructure ... lacking in showers at the beach, more pathways need to be built for access to the beach. The worst part was when on Friday afternoon, the buggies and 4-wheelers intruded the beach from the general public area, disturbing the peace and quiet. Guests had no other choice but to leave for their rooms for the day.
Looks like a great divers resort
Rooms were a bit musty smelling but clean and service was friendly and efficient
We love the comfort of the place, being surrounded by the sea and wildlife, the staff and how friendly and sweet they all are, the relaxation, the beach bar and much more.....
It needs better landscape on the sea side of the Bahala group of cottages. The sea view and the front of the rooms absolutely barren and not cared. Some greens in front of the room balocony wilii enhance the vew and the sense of feeling comfort will improve.
The baive point is repeate herer. Moreover, the swiming pool area towrds the sea side needs little more shed with greeneries. I think these areas needs specifc landscape desing to improve the quality of the environement. One should visit the Crowne Plaza, Salalah, Oman beach resort to understand I pointed out.
the view, the nature, the food
no ceiling fan,no room service for food,we missed the warmth...though the system looked ok.
You can see that work is being done to improve the Resort. We went there for a diving weekend and the dive sites were good. The buffet dinner which was included in the price was delicious.
For the same price you can get a 5* resort in Dubai and they would not require to pay in advance. In general the hotel management does not seem to trust its guest very much. Guests hove to pay full amount for their stay in advance. The min bar in the room was empty and every drink in the room had to be ordered through reception and signed when received. No chilled water in bathroom or pool so we could decide when taking a shower if we want hot or very hot water and the pool was at 37c not really refreshing. Bars did not even open after Iftar like in other hotels in the region. Those things are probably better during winter season. The dive center charges 3% charge for credit card which is actually not allowed by the cc companies and not appropriate targeting international guests.
The location, the beach are great.
The Resort is not customer friendly, it does not cater properly for the guests needs.
Friendly, very helpful, efficient staff. Good range of vegetarian food for breakfast and dinner. Super salads on the lunch menu. Lots of places to sit indoors and out. Firm bed. Controllable AC. Quiet and peaceful, only very few roudy kids at one meal only. Lovely view from the room onto the garden. Patio to sit and listen / watch the birds. Water caraf filled each day. 'Car' / golf cart to move our diving gear to our room and then to the dive centre. super dive centre and diving!
Pillows on beds too hard and too thick! Safe should be left open to enable use.
The staff in the hotel are really friendly and helpfull. The dinner theme nights are nice, bbq, Pasta and Asian nights while I was there. Came here to dive the Daymaniyat Islands which are fantastic, so the hotel is ideal as the Extra Divers Al Sawadi is situated at the hotel.
The hotel is a little worn now and could do with a little refurbishment.
Fairly good hotel it is what you expect form a 4 star hotel.
I booked because it was the only option in that area Not enough facilities. Hotel was also too strict in regard to the number of people staying in each room regardless of the fact that they were kids. Some units had ac problems.
Good base for diving the Damaniyat islands. The food quality has improved dramatically with the new chef who started in mid 2011.
You have to buy the half board package with the buffet dinner- you can't eat at other outlets and there's no room service available. The resort facilities like the pool are very basic- not a luxury feel. The dive center staff (especially the older German couple who run it) are quite grumpy to the point of being rude.
Good diving centre. Good equipment
The dives are too expensive as well as the equipment rental. There is no a shower near the beach the hotel is too expensive for the offered services quality
